...Of course there's fishing! The fishing waters around Alaska Island Adventures and in Cholmondeley Sound are some of the best found in Southeast Alaska. You'll find the surrounding waters are plentiful of Salmon (King, Coho (Silver), Pink and Chum), Halibut, Rockfish, Yelloweye and Ling Cod.  

If you would like to try your hand at shrimping and crabbing, Alaska White Spotted Prawns and Dungeness Crab are also available in the area.  


 All our trips at Alaska Island Adventures are self-guided aka "The hands-on fishing experience".  The Self-Guided trip you’ve chosen offers you the luxury of going out on your own creating your own agenda and fishing at your leisure. With your safety at Alaska Island Adventures being our number one priority,  your first day at the lodge will include an orientation of the surrounding areas, boats, fishing gear and safety equipment. Boat, water and land safety will also be included in the orientation as well. Rest assured we will and do routinely check on and keep track of all our guests while they are out on their excursions to make sure all is going well and we are available to answer any questions that you may have.

Fishing Licenses

Fishing licenses, King Salmon stamps and Shrimp permits are required for those wishing to fish and Shrimp in Southeast  Alaska and are not a part of your trip package.  Fishing licenses, King Salmon stamps and Shrimp permits may be purchased on line at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. More information regarding the area and Fishing stats can also be found at Alaska Department Fish and Game Southeastern/Prince of Wales area. Information regarding Halibut regulations can be found at NOAA Fisheries.
